Initiators

Patriarchal Foundation Mudra Sprava, considering the current mental health problems of Ukrainians caused by the Russian war against Ukraine and the Development Strategy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church until 2030 to heal the wounds of war, launched a social project to provide psychological assistance to victims.

Objectives

1. Finding a functional space to provide psychological counselling and confidential assistance.

2. Recruitment of a team of professional psychologists, psychotherapists, trainers, art therapists and music therapists.

3. Developing basic principles of work and ways to implement them.

4. Ensuring a confidential system of registration and psychological counselling.

5. Establishing cooperation with parishes and various community groups to offer psychological assistance to their members.

6. Providing a team of specialists with the proper inventory for effective counselling.

We succeeded

To use the space of the Wound Healing Centres in parish communities for group psychological counselling.

To equip a separate room for individual counselling in the Wound Healing Centres of parish communities.

Assemble a team of 9 counselling psychologists and psychotherapists and 8 group work specialists: psychologists, trainers, art therapists and music therapists.

Develop and agree with all the specialists on the principles of work and ways to implement them.

Ensure confidentiality of participants during registration and psychological counselling.

Establish cooperation with parish centres and various community groups to provide psychological assistance to their members.

Provide all the necessary equipment to the team of specialists for effective counselling.

Provide individual counselling in our project for about 100 people.

To involve about 320 people in our group sessions.

In total, 613 individual consultations and about 80 group sessions were held.

People affected by the Russian war against Ukraine and in need of psychological assistance (internally displaced persons, military personnel, families of military personnel, families who have lost their loved ones).
