Initiators

Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation in cooperation with Ukrainians abroad and caring philanthropists from around the world to solve the humanitarian needs of the victims of the Russian war.

Goal

Providing hygiene kits to those most affected by Russia’s war against Ukraine, including residents of the Kherson region who suffered various losses due to flooding as a result of a war crime and potential ecocide caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP dam.

Duration

June 2023 — present.

Objectives

1. To purchase hygiene products to form a hygiene kit and conclude partnership agreements with manufacturers of certain products.

2. To equip a workshop for storing and packaging products.

3. Hire a team of workers to pack the hygiene kits.

4. To think over the logistics of delivering hygiene kits to the places of the largest concentration of IDPs and war-affected people.

5. Deliver the hygiene kits to the places of their distribution, with the support of the UGCC Logistics Center.

6. Establish a network of parish centers where hygiene kits will be stored and distributed.

7. Provide hygiene kits to the above-mentioned population categories;

8. During the distribution of hygiene kits, organize opportunities for communication: with other affected people, with volunteers, with psychologists and clergy.

We succeeded:

Purchase hygiene products to form the kits and sign 12 partnership agreements with manufacturers of the products.

Arrange a place for storage and packaging of the products at the Caritas Kolomyia.

Hire a team of 6 people to pack the hygiene kits.

To form and prepare 11,065 hygiene kits with a total weight of almost 83 tons.

With the support of the UGCC Logistics Center, deliver hygiene kits to UGCC parishes in Kherson region.

Build cooperation with local governments to deliver hygiene kits to the most affected by the flooding.

Provide hygiene kits to the above-mentioned population groups.

To communicate with the victims of the war crime in Kherson region, to provide support and to familiarize themselves with the further challenges they are called upon to respond to.

Beneficiaries

People who lost their homes, property, or jobs as a consequence of a war crime and potential ecocide committed by the Russian aggressor through the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam.
