Initiators

The Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation, in cooperation with the Patriarchal Pilgrimage Center of the UGCC, responded to the need to rescue and evacuate people from the frontline and constantly shelled areas, thus saving lives.

Goal

In response to the need to evacuate people from places under occupation/military threat (southern and eastern regions of Ukraine), to evacuate them, provide them with temporary shelter and protection in safe conditions, provide various social services, and conduct and organize spiritual recovery.

Оbjectives

1. To analyze the need for evacuation of the population.

2. Organize the logistics of evacuation transportation.

3. Create a base of shelters in more secure regions and establish cooperation and support.

4. Provide evacuees with humanitarian aid.

5. Provide further care for the evacuees in the form of spiritual recovery through the organization of pilgrimage trips.

We succeeded:

5,199 people were evacuated from May to December 2022, and 987 people in 2023. A total of 6,186 people.

In 2022, more than 120 evacuations were carried out from Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Izyum, Bakhmut with a total distance of 195,570 km, and in 2023 — 59,100 km. In total, 254,670 km.

About 20 % of the evacuees were accommodated in shelters and provided with humanitarian aid worth almost UAH 2.1 million.

More than 1,500 IDPs temporarily residing in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions took part in spiritual retreats.

Cooperation was established with nearly 100 shelters for IDPs (Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia regions), including UGCC centers.
