All-Church Fundraising Initiative “Andriyiv Hrish” (Andrew’s Pence)

The “Andrew’s Pence” initiative was established in 2007 by His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar, the then Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

This initiative is held annually across all eparchies and exarchates of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the context of the Feast of St. Andrew the First-Called. It is accompanied by prayers for the Father and Head of the UGCC, aimed at enabling him to provide urgent assistance to those most in need.

November 29 — December 6, 2024.

1. Disseminate information about the purpose and significance of the collection among the parishes, eparchies, and exarchates of the UGCC.
   
   
2. Create a video message to engage as many participants as possible.
   
   
3. Provide clergy with materials to prepare sermons and announcements emphasizing the importance of helping those in need and raising awareness of the fund.
   
   
4. Organize prayer events on the Feast of St. Andrew the First-Called.
   
   
5. Establish clear procedures for collecting donations in each parish.
   
   
6. Encourage participation not only from parishioners but also from a broader audience via online donation platforms.
   
   
7. Regularly update the faithful on the targeted use of the collected funds.

To inform parish communities of the UGCC about the St Andrew’s Gresh financial collection;

Create a video message explaining the significance of the collection and its importance for attracting benefactors;

Establish clear procedures for collecting and transferring funds to the Andriyiv Hrish fund;

Encourage everyone to participate in charity through the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Individuals currently in urgent need, particularly those affected by russia’s war against Ukraine.
