All Saints Parish in Hamburg hosted the Third Ukrainian Charity Evening Party for the Ukrainian diaspora.

The event, organized on the initiative of the parish priest, Father Pavlo Zviok, and with the support of parishioners, brought together over 250 participants.

The vespers began with a Prayer of Light dedicated to peace in Ukraine and its defenders. The candles lit during the prayer were later handed over to volunteers to make trench candles for the soldiers. The solemn presentation and blessing of the loaf symbolized the unity of Ukrainians who, despite the distance, remain one big family. After that, the priest gave the blessing.

The atmosphere of the holiday was enhanced by traditional Ukrainian dishes, including borsch cooked over a fire by Cossack Myroslav. “Festive dishes such as borsch from Cossack Myroslav, bacon, pampushkas, stuffed cabbage rolls and benderikas from parish hostesses created a real homey atmosphere,” the organizers of the meeting said.

The musical accompaniment of the evening was provided by the band “SUSH-Bend” from Prague. The participants sang Cossack, rifleman and insurgent songs, as well as songs by Volodymyr Ivasiuk.

The charity fair organized during the evening was a contribution to help Ukrainian families affected by the war

“All the donations collected will be transferred to the Patriarchal Foundation ‘Mudra Sprava’, founded by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC. This event united Ukrainians in the diaspora, supported the homeland and became a symbol of unity through culture and faith,” the participants emphasized.

The final chord was the song “Rodyna, Rodyna,” which symbolized the unity of generations and the deep connection of Ukrainians wherever they are.
