UGCC signs an agreement with Brovary’s Kapitoshka kindergarten to build a playground and sports ground

The Patriarchal Foundation Mudra Sprava was represented at the meeting by Fr Lyubomyr Yavorskyy, Patriarchal Econom of the UGCC and Director of the Foundation. He emphasised that war has two sides of the coin. One of them is cruel and painful, and the other is solidarity and unity, which build, inspire, and give hope. We felt this when all Ukrainians started to unite — and we are talking here not only about Ukrainians in Ukraine, but also around the world.

“In this case, our Apostolic Exarchate in Germany and Scandinavia joined the support and assistance to our children through the Patriarchal Foundation Mudra Sprava and the Greek Catholic parish in Brovary headed by Fr Oleh Panchyniak. These are the children whose parents are fighting on the front line or are internally displaced. So, they need to feel dignity today. This is the dignity of living in a free, independent, free country. Dignity today is not to be in a ‘soviet’ architectural ensemble that was once imposed on us, but to be in a space where you want to live, create, and be inspired,” he said.

It was the Apostolic Exarchate for Ukrainians of the Byzantine Rite in Germany and Scandinavia, represented by Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh, who made a new offer of financial support for the preschool’s initiatives.

“This is not the first project that the Church has implemented in our institution,” says Natalia Sherembey, director of the Kapitoshka preschool, “Our kids are already happy to work out in the gym. It is a truly European gym, so everyone who enters it cannot believe their eyes that a state institution in Brovary has such a centre. We also have a room for moral and spiritual education of our children. So, our cooperation, which is regulated by this Memorandum, will only grow in the future.”

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged gratitude for their cooperation and joint service for the benefit of children.

“Let this Memorandum and the agreement we are signing to build a sports and children’s playground be an example for those who are afraid of cooperation or do not know the Church. Therefore, they do not always understand how much good we can do if we are in unity. So, thank you again!” said Fr Lyubomyr.
