July 17, 2026
On July 17, the third module of the “Action in Hope” educational mini-MBA program, organized by the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation, began in Odesa. During the first training day, participants mastered the fundamentals of modern HR management under the guidance of HR expert Lilia Cherniak.

This time, the lecture focused not only on recruitment, but above all on building a comprehensive people management system. The speaker emphasized that in modern conditions, the HR function is no longer just an administrative component of business and is increasingly becoming a strategic tool for organizational development. That is why effective personnel management begins with a clear understanding of the company’s mission, the necessary team competencies, and its long-term development strategy.
Special attention during the training was paid to the challenges currently faced by Ukrainian employers. Among the main barriers to business development, participants analysed workforce shortages, growing competition for qualified workers, and the need for a systematic approach to HR operations. The speaker suggested viewing these challenges not as isolated problems, but as an incentive to implement effective HR processes.

The practical part of the training was dedicated to building an HR strategy. Working in teams, participants analysed real business cases, defined organizational missions and visions, created lists of key employee competencies, and developed job profiles for their own enterprises and community initiatives. This format allowed them to immediately apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
In the second part of the session, Lilia Cherniak focused on modern recruitment and selection technologies. Participants discussed factors determining hiring success, including candidate productivity, personal qualities, intrinsic motivation, and professional knowledge. Particular attention was given to identifying a future employee’s potential as early as the interview stage and assembling a team capable of ensuring long-term organizational growth.
As a reminder, the “Action in Hope” mini-MBA educational program is implemented by the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation to develop managerial, entrepreneurial, and leadership competencies among representatives of communities, businesses, charitable organizations, and local government bodies, helping them implement sustainable changes in their communities.
