The event brought together entrepreneurs, business owners, community activists, and representatives of local government bodies.

The first day of training was dedicated to the topic of grant management. It was led by Mariana Kashchak — director of the Ukrainian Educational Platform, lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University, and a practitioner with years of experience in the field of fundraising.

During the session, participants reviewed key approaches to attracting resources for business development and social initiatives. In particular, it was discussed that fundraising is not just about finding funding, but a systematic process of building long-term relationships with donors, partners, and investors. Special attention was paid to the role of grants as one of the most accessible support tools, since they are provided on a non-repayable basis and allow for launching or scaling projects without a debt burden.

The participants also learned about the key principles of effective fundraising: transparency, quality communication, clear definition of goals, community engagement, and the development of trust. As the speaker emphasized, donors invest not just in ideas, but in solutions that create value for society and the economy.

A separate block was devoted to the practical aspects of preparing for grant acquisition. Specifically, it covered the necessity of forming a value proposition, preparing a business plan and a financial model, as well as correctly choosing funding sources in accordance with the project’s goals.

The Mini MBA “Action in Hope” program is aimed at strengthening the capacity of local leaders and entrepreneurs, developing their business skills, and forming sustainable models for community development.
