The parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the UGCC in Irpin continues to provide vital support to those in need and affected by the ongoing war.
Following the example of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, whose feast day is celebrated on December 6th, the parish remains dedicated to serving those most vulnerable.
Every Tuesday at 1:00 PM, 200 hot meals are prepared and distributed to those in need, including internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, the elderly, and those facing difficult life circumstances.
In collaboration with the Patriarchal Foundation “Mudra Sprava,” the parish also delivers hot meals and food packages to residents of the “Lastivka” modular town. This initiative is made possible thanks to the generous support of Ukrainian benefactors in Australia, particularly through the efforts of the Melbourne Eparchy of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
Recognizing the needs of homebound individuals, parish volunteers also make personal deliveries to elderly and isolated residents in Irpin, offering not only essential food but also much-needed companionship and a sense of human connection.
This vital assistance will continue throughout the winter months, ensuring that those in need receive the support they require. The distribution of hot meals takes place near the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the UGCC, located at 28 A Antonova Street (near the railway crossing) in Irpin.
