“The kindness unites”: Slovak humanitarian aid supports people in need and IDPs in Fastiv
September 25, 2024
Humanitarian aid from the Slovak government, consisting of clothing and footwear for adults and children, medical equipment for surgical operations, and stretchers for evacuating the wounded, continues to reach those affected by the Russian war against Ukraine who need various forms of support and closeness.
“Doing good is easy when you have reliable partners by your side. Good comes from God, because He is absolute Good. And we, people, by doing good, become like God and become happier,” said Fr. Vitaliy Martsyniuk, pastor of the parish community of St. Demetrius in Fastiv, Kyiv region.
Thanks to the team of the Patriarchal Foundation “Mudra Sprava”, 84 boxes of clothes and medical equipment, including evacuation stretchers, were delivered to the Caritas Fastiv charitable center, which operates and serves at the parish of St. Demetrius in Fastiv.
“Food packages, clothes for adults and children, and evacuation stretchers from the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia are all aid that gives hope and brings our victory closer!” Fr Vitaliy emphasized.
The recipients of the aid were IDPs who found shelter and safety in Fastiv and the surrounding area, as well as other victims of the Russian war against Ukraine.
In the end, the priest expressed his gratitude to all those involved in this charity campaign and noted that “good unites!”
On September 5, 2024, the Government of Slovakia, through its representative in Ukraine, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine Pavel Vizdal, handed over humanitarian aid to the Patriarchal Foundation “Mudra Sprava” for further implementation for those in need in Ukraine. This happened during a meeting with the director of the foundation, Lyubomyr Yavorskyy. After that, the foundation’s team immediately began to properly pack and process the aid and transport it to parish centers that carry out charitable and social service. One of these centers is the UGCC parish in Fastiv, Kyiv region.
