The Church stands with families: Strengthening the Ministry of UGCC Family Centers discussed in Zarvanytsia
October 10, 2025
The UGCC Consulting Center team continues its participation in the project “Strengthening the Activities of Family Centers.” This initiative was launched by the Patriarchal Commission for Family and Laity.

A regular educational seminar was held for representatives of the Ternopil-Zboriv Metropolia on October 7–8, 2025, at the Marian Spiritual Center “Zarvanytsia.” Participants included priests and coordinators responsible for the activities of family centers across the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy, as well as the Buchach and Kamianets-Podilskyi Eparchies.
During the meeting, participants discussed the financial models for operating these centers, legal aspects of their activities, and recent legislative changes that may impact the development of this ministry.
A highlight of the event was a visit from Bishop Dmytro Hryhorak of the Buchach Eparchy. He shared his vision on the vital importance of working with families, addressed the challenges facing the Church during the war, and emphasized the special role of pastors in preserving family values.
The participants were highly engaged, asking questions and sharing their own experiences and insights. At the conclusion, they noted that the event was a lively and meaningful discussion, providing everyone with inspiration and fresh ideas for their future work.
“Today, as the war exacerbates family difficulties and divorce rates remain high, it is especially important to strengthen ministry for families. The Church can be that place of support, empathy, and joy that helps maintain unity and forms a new generation of mature Christian families,” concluded Maryna Danyliv, head of the UGCC Consulting Center.
