October 12, 2025
During a working visit to the United States, representatives of the Patriarchal Economate, led by the Patriarchal Econome Father Lubomyr Javorskyy, met with Father Yuriy Kozlovsky in Washington, D. C. The discussion focused on the Archangel Gabriel School, an initiative of the UGCC Department of External Relations, headed by Metropolitan Borys Gudziak of Philadelphia.

Following a decision by the UGCC Synod of Bishops, Metropolitan Borys Gudziak is responsible for the implementation of this project. The school’s primary objective is to equip both clergy and laity with diplomatic skills, including negotiation, communication, lobbying, and effectively representing the truth about Ukraine on the global stage.
Father Yuriy Kozlovsky reported that the first cohort has already graduated, comprising both priests and laypeople. The curriculum featured not only theoretical lectures but also practical engagements and meetings with high-ranking U. S. officials, business leaders, and members of Congress.
In the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine, this initiative takes on profound significance. As emphasized by the Church, every priest is called not only to bear witness to Christ but also to serve as a voice of truth regarding the suffering and struggle of the Ukrainian people.
The visiting delegation included Father Lubomyr Javorskyy, Patriarchal Economos of the UGCC; Iryna Havryshkevych, Head of the Project Department of the Patriarchal Curia; and Nataliya Parkulab, Head of the UGCC Finance Department.
