Record Number of Participants at the Rehabilitation Camp for Military Families in Lviv Region
July 25, 2025
A rehabilitation camp for military families, combining spiritual, psychological, and physical recovery, has concluded in the Lviv region. This year’s event saw a record 72 participants, including both adults and children, the highest number in the two-year history of these rehabilitation sessions.
The camp was initiated by the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation, the Patriarchal Pilgrimage Center, four animators from the School of Christian Animator under the spiritual guidance of Father Vasyl Kinakh, and psychologists Tetiana Kril and Nataliya Chorna. The camp was made possible with financial support from the German foundation “Kindermissionswerk.”
The rehabilitation program was rich and diverse. The spiritual component included group and individual meetings with the priest, catechism sessions, Taizé prayer, and Divine Liturgy. The psychological part featured training sessions, consultations, art and aromatherapy, and bio-suggestive therapy.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the Krekhiv Monastery, the “Domazhyr” bear rehabilitation center, and a water park. The campgrounds offered outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, hippotherapy, zip-lining, and a climbing wall. A special highlight was a cooking workshop from a veteran-owned business, “fried ice cream.”
Each evening, participants enjoyed entertainment programs, including quizzes, contests, singing with a guitar, and themed competitions like “Make the Spiritual Director Laugh,” “Dubbing,” and “Commercial.”
The organizers emphasize that such initiatives are extremely important for the emotional and spiritual recovery of families burdened by war. The next sessions are planned for the near future.
