January 31, 2026
The team of the Patriarchal Foundation Mudra Sprava has delivered the first shipment of humanitarian aid to arrive in Kyiv from Poland as part of an international solidarity campaign. The aid was handed over to the Head of the Desnianskyi District State Administration, Maksym Bakhmatov.

Fr. Lyubomyr Yavorskyy, director of the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation, shared the details of the mission:
“Today, our Foundation team met with the Head of the Desnianskyi District Administration, Maksym Bakhmatov, to deliver a humanitarian cargo that we received just yesterday. It arrived from Poland thanks to the appeal of Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś and the sincere solidarity of the Polish people. It is extremely important to us that aid is timely, so we make every effort to ensure that humanitarian shipments are not delayed. The situation is difficult, but when we unite, we are always capable of more,” he noted.
During the meeting, special attention was drawn to the fact that, according to Maksym Bakhmatov, this is the first humanitarian aid destined for Kyiv’s Troyeshchyna district, and it was provided specifically by the Church. The handover took place in the presence of Fr. Vitaliy Herasymiv, the local administrator of the parish community of St. Michael the Archangel.
The day before, the humanitarian cargo had been arrived at the Patriarchal Center in Kyiv. It arrived with Fr. Łukasz Ślusarczyk, Director of Caritas of the Archdiocese of Krakow, and was presented to His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, for further distribution to Kyiv residents in need.
As a reminder, a general archdiocesan fundraiser to support Kyiv was announced across all parishes of the Archdiocese of Krakow, scheduled for February 1. The donations collected will be used to purchase powerful generators and mobile boiler houses. Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś personally donated the first generator.
