Patriarchal Economemeets with French Ambassador to Ukraine to establish cooperation

Father Ihor Shaban, Head of the UGCC Commission for Interconfessional and Interreligious Relations, also participated in the meeting. During the meeting, the parties discussed deepening cooperation between the Patriarchal Foundation “Mudra Sprava” and the French Republic.

Father Lyubomyr presented to the ambassador the foundation’s diverse humanitarian aid, which is constantly transforming. In particular, he emphasized that the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is already considering effective tools for post-war reconstruction, not only of infrastructure but also of people’s souls and hearts.

“Providing food packages in the front-line territories and hot meals in the Kyiv region, we immediately consider how to help people independently develop their community and conduct socially oriented entrepreneurial activities. To this end, we are starting another stage of the educational program ‘Action in Hope’ to teach people how to write grant applications and start their own businesses. Having established the ‘Good Samaritan’ Invincibility Points and gathered feedback on their operation in our parish communities, we have started the next stage of scaling Wound Healing Centers — more sustainable and strategically necessary. By communicating with people and listening to their needs, we are launching new projects for the psychological and social rehabilitation not only of servicemen but also of their families, including children,” the priest shared about the implementation of particular projects.

In turn, the French Ambassador to Ukraine assured of the French people’s closeness to Ukrainians and their desire to help those affected by the russian war against Ukraine.

“We hope that this meeting will bring good fruits and allow us to embrace even more wounded hearts,” Father Lyubomyr Yavorskyy noted in conclusion.
