On April 3, 2026 the city of Samar hosted the third module of the educational program Mini MBA “Action in Hope,” which brought together local community activists, entrepreneurs, business representatives, government officials, and civil society. The theme of the meeting was “Ethical Leadership.”

Participants of Mini MBA “Action in Hope” in Samar Studied Principles of Ethical Leadership

During the educational lecture, participants focused on the value foundations of leadership and the role of personal responsibility in community building. It was emphasized that true leadership begins with a person’s inner development — the “road to oneself” — and also implies responsibility to others and adherence to high moral principles.

Special attention was paid to the topic of community as an environment for exercising leadership. Participants discussed the importance of continuous interaction, communication, and joint efforts for its development. It was highlighted that communication manifests itself not only through words but also through actions, gestures, and behaviour.

As part of the training, the key values of an ethical leader were also examined: transparency, openness to change, humanity, solidarity, trust, justice, mutual respect, and inclusiveness. An important aspect was the combination of spiritual and philosophical virtues — faith, hope, love, as well as wisdom, fortitude, and temperance — as the foundation of responsible leadership.

The practical part of the event included a discussion on ethical principles in business. In particular, the participants got acquainted with the “10 Rules of Business,” which emphasize honesty, social responsibility, the prevention of breach of trust, and an orientation toward the common good.

The event became a space for deep reflection on the role of a leader in modern society. The participants concluded that a true leader is not just a manager, but above all a bearer of values capable of uniting people and taking responsibility for the development of their community.
