On April 5, another educational day took place in Samar as part of the Mini MBA “Action in Hope” program. The third lecture was dedicated to the topic of “Operational Management” and brought together representatives of business, government, and the public sector to work on practical tools for effective management.

Participants focused on the basic functions of management — planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling — which together form a comprehensive management cycle. Special attention was paid to the role of communication as an element that unites all these processes and ensures their effectiveness.

During the training, the principles of goal setting using the SMART methodology were examined. It was discussed that effective management decisions must be clearly formulated, measurable, achievable, result-oriented, and time-bound. This approach allows not only for planning activities but also for controlling their results.

A significant part of the module was dedicated to teamwork. Participants became acquainted with situational leadership approaches that consider the level of experience and motivation of employees, as well as the principles of effective task delegation. In particular, it was emphasized that the delegation of authority is a necessary condition for the development of both the team and the leader.

A separate block was devoted to feedback as a management tool. Its various types — supportive, developing, and corrective — were reviewed, along with their role in increasing employee motivation and improving performance outcomes.

The module served as a practical platform for building managerial skills and demonstrated that effective management is not only about processes but also about people, interaction, and responsibility for the outcome.
