Light and warmth for Obolon: Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation delivers generators and heaters to Kyiv Educational Institutions

On this day, representatives of the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation — Fr. Lubomyr Yavorskyy, Director of the Foundation, and Fr. Oleh Panchyniak, together with Fr. Andriy Bonys, pastor of the local Greek Catholic parish community of the Holy Trinity — met with Kyrylo Fesyuk, Head of the Obolon District State Administration in Kyiv. During the meeting, Kyrylo Fesyuk shared the urgent challenges facing the residents of Obolon, as well as opportunities for cooperation between the state and the Church, particularly through social service and comprehensive support for those affected and in need.

In turn, representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church affirmed their commitment to standing by the Ukrainian people during this difficult period of war and their active involvement in helping overcome the consequences of Russian terror against the civilian population. At the same time, the Church continues its primary mission of spiritual care and support, fostering hope even amidst total darkness and cold.

The meeting resulted in the handover of generators and electric heaters to educational institutions in Obolon, including:

Concluding the visit, the UGCC representatives assured the residents of Obolon of continued support and assistance. Notably, the local parish community, despite the lack of light and heat in its rented premises, continues to provide prayer and spiritual guidance to the residents of the district.

It is worth mentioning that this delivery of generators and heaters was made possible through the generous and timely support of the Polish people. They responded to the call of Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, Archbishop of Kraków, and contributed to the fundraising efforts of Caritas of the Archdiocese of Kraków. On January 30, the first batch of humanitarian aid collected by Caritas Kraków as part of a solidarity campaign was handed over at the UGCC Patriarchal Center in Kyiv. This includes 162 electric generators and 846 electric heaters, which are now being distributed to various districts of Kyiv through the efforts of the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation.
