In Samar, the Fourth Module of the Mini MBA “Action in Hope” Program Launched with the Theme of Leadership

The speaker for the educational day was Andriy Rozhdestvenskyy, a lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University, who delivered a lecture “Leadership.” During the session, participants became acquainted with modern approaches to understanding the role of a leader in the face of complex and uncertain challenges.

In particular, the lecturer focused on the concept of adaptive leadership, according to which leadership is primarily an action, rather than a position or a formal role. An important task for a leader is the ability to diagnose challenges, distinguish between technical and adaptive problems, and create an environment that stimulates the team to find solutions. It was specially emphasized that an effective leader does not provide ready-made answers but rather formulates the right questions and directs the energy of change.

As part of the lecture, the differences between management and leadership were also examined. While management focuses on planning, organizing, and controlling, leadership involves creating a vision, supporting people, and motivating the team.

Significant attention was paid to the topic of trust as a key element of effective leadership. Participants learned about 13 behavioural models that build trust within a team, including openness, accountability, respect, and the ability to listen.

In addition, the “virtue leadership” approach was presented, which emphasizes the importance of character, values, and critical thinking in shaping an effective manager. The lecturer stressed that the development of personal qualities is precisely what helps leaders maintain resilience and effectiveness even in stressful or hostile environments.

The “Action in Hope” program is aimed at developing managerial competencies, strengthening cooperation between different sectors, and forming responsible leadership capable of responding to the challenges of modern times.
