Fifth Module of the “Action in Hope” Program: Participants from Kryvyi Rih Study the Principles of Modern Leadership

The program participants included representatives of business, the entrepreneurial sector, local government bodies, and civil society who strive to develop their communities through responsible leadership and effective management.

The first day of training was conducted by Andriy Rozhdestvenskyy, a lecturer at the Lviv Business School of the Ukrainian Catholic University. The central topic of the session was modern leadership amid complex challenges and uncertainty.

The lecturer focused on Ronald Heifetz’s concept of adaptive leadership, according to which leadership is not reduced to a position or formal authority, but is primarily the ability to act, correctly diagnose challenges, and engage people in finding solutions. Participants examined the differences between management and leadership, learned to identify complex problems, and analysed the role of a leader as someone who not only provides answers but also asks the right questions.

The instructor paid special attention to the issues of a leader’s character and virtues. According to Andriy Rozhdestvenskyy, a true leader builds trust through integrity, responsibility, humility, humanity, cooperation, and critical thinking. Participants became acquainted with models of leadership character development, as well as behavioural principles that help build trust in teams and communities.

During the training, current challenges faced by leaders under stress, social instability, and war were also addressed. Andriy Rozhdestvenskyy emphasized the importance of internal resources, virtues, and mutual trust in maintaining personal resilience and executive effectiveness in difficult circumstances.

The fifth module of the mini-MBA program “Action in Hope” will run until June 14. Over the following days, participants will continue working on developing the leadership competencies necessary to serve their communities, organizations, and professional environments.
