Bishop Mykola Bychok Opened Another Wounds Healing Center in Slavutych
June 17, 2025
On June 16, 2025, in Slavutych, Kyiv region, another Wounds Healing Center was opened thanks to the efforts of the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation and the support of benefactors.
Before the opening, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the local Greek-Catholic church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was led by His Eminence Bishop Mykola Bychok. He was concelebrated by Father Lyubomyr Yavorskyy, Patriarchal Econome of the UGCC and Director of the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation; Father Yuriy Lohaza, pastor of the local parish community; Father Yaroslav Valyukh; and Father Ihor Yatsiv, Head of the UGCC Information Department.
After the Divine Liturgy, the Wounds Healing Center was officially opened and blessed. In his commentary, Father Lyubomyr Yavorskyy noted that this parish community was not chosen by chance: «66 families from the local parish community have lost a loved one in the war. These are not just numbers, not just statistics; this is pain and suffering, and at the same time, a testament to boundless love, ready to sacrifice for the lives of others, for our lives, which continue.»
The priest also stated: «Symbolically, it was Bishop Mykola Bychok, who strongly supports the initiatives of the Mudra Sprava Patriarchal Foundation, who came to open the Wound Healing Center in Slavutych. This support has already amounted to over $500,000 USD. Moreover, before his departure for Ukraine, the bishop again transferred funds to open another Center—in the Donetsk Exarchate.»
In conclusion, the priest added: «So may this Wounds Healing Center be not only a space for social assistance but also for openness and acceptance for all who need support today. And we thank all the benefactors for their closeness to the suffering of our Ukrainian people.»
We would like to add that this is the fifth Wound Healing Center established through the efforts of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Previously, such centers were opened in Hostomel, Boryspil, and Shchaslyve in the Kyiv region, as well as in Ruzhyn in the Zhytomyr region. They are currently active and provide various services to those most affected by the war against Ukraine.
