20 Military families begin rehabilitation course organized by the UGCC
May 21, 2025
On May 20, 2025, the first rehabilitation session for 16 military families — veterans of the Russian — Ukrainian war — began in the Lviv region.
These families, hailing from across Ukraine including Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Volyn, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Donetsk, are participating in a program for spiritual and psychological recovery.
Over ten days, servicemen, their wives, and children will work to overcome fears, enrich their spiritual lives, restore family relationships, and find energy and inspiration. They’ll gain new skills and receive professional support from family and peers.
To achieve these goals, a team of specialists is on hand, including spiritual mentor Father Vasyl Kinakh, psychotherapists Nataliia Chorna and Tetiana Kril, and children’s animators.
A notable feature of this session is the large number of children, with three under one year old and the youngest participant just three months old.
This family rehabilitation project is in its second year, a joint effort by Mudra Sprava and the UGCC Patriarchal Pilgrimage Center. Kindermissionswerk, an international Catholic child relief organization in Germany, provides financial backing.
